The 2010 FIFA World Cup is coming to a close this Sunday. It will be up to Netherlands vs. Spain in the finals to decide who the victor will be. It has been an eventful month thus far, and I’m sure the final game won’t let us down. But it hasn’t been an easy road for some. Of course, you all remember the French team and their meltdown or team USA’s inability to capitalize on key scoring chances, but I want to talk about the most important key to this World Cup - The BALL!
As you’ve... |

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of long-term unemployed hasn’t decreased; it continues to be unchanged. In June, 6.8 million people have been jobless for more than 27 weeks (over 6 months). Looking for a job is a stressful experience, and searching for over a year and a half for an opportunity can definitely take a toll on anyone’s motivation. It’s especially discouraging when you don’t receive any feedback, good or bad, from sending out tons of resumes and... |

How many of you bought the new iPhone 4 this week? If so, congratulations. I personally decided to go a different direction this time around. The history of a resume. When did it become part of the hiring process? How effective is it? What does the future hold for these one dimensional pieces of paper? Over the past 9 months, part of my job has been to source candidates looking for employment. The first step is usually asking the candidate for their resume. As you can imagine, I receive many, many resumes. I can’t even imagine how someone within an HR department feels after looking at hundreds of resumes in one day. After... |

As we are seeing a shift in our economy, the job market is going through a new change. More people are voluntarily quitting their jobs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has recently reported that the number of employees quitting their jobs surpassed the number being laid-off for the first time since October 2008. All signs point to this trend growing stronger in the upcoming months. This is a healthy sign for our economy and job market, but there is an underlying issue being left out... |
